River Towers is a pair of site-specific sculptures that reference the surrounding urban, architectural landscape. Created with steel, glass, and light, they explore the relationships between internal and external forms. Up close, the external mass dominates. The ordered, rhythmic layers of steel express the protective armor of the exterior. The glass core of illuminated blue light is revealed to its full potential at a distance. What is revealed or concealed as a whole is in constant flux as the viewer moves and is dependent on one’s perspective.
